2017 Breweries Announcement #8

With 12 hours until ticket sales open, were excited to announce 3 more breweries: Driftwood Brewery, Fuggles and Warlock Craftworks and Whistler Brewing. If you've been keeping score, tonight's announcement puts us over 20, and we're not done yet!

Driftwood, a Victoria native brewery, will be returning to WLCBF this February. If you're an IPA fan and Driftwood is new to you, stop hiding under a rock and go buy yourself a bomber of Fat Tug. Driftwood has some seriously good beers!

Whistler Brewing, known for beers like their Chestnut Ale and Lost Lake IPA will taking a break during their ski season to returning and join us WLCBF.

Lastly Fuggles and Warlock will be joining us for the first time. This Richmond based brewery prides themselves on "keeping beer weird". You'll only have go as far as checking out their beer this year at the festival (or at a nearby liquor store) to see what them mean.

If you have been following us and are a newcomer to our beer festival there's something you should know about our history. We sell out. Fast. If you are interested in attending we encourage you to make time tomorrow, because any longer than that may be too late!

See you at Crofts tomorrow 9:30am - 3:00pm.

Cost: $75 (includes entrance, souvenir glass, food and beverages)

Restrictions: Must be 19+ as of February 18, 2017 to purchase and attend, limit of six tickets per person, and ***CASH*** only.

Another HUGE thank you to Croft's Brewing for allowing us to use their venue.  Be sure to check out their products and services.

2017 Breweries Announcement #7

With less than 36 hours until ticket sales open, I'm excited to announce breweries 16-18: Spinnakers, Parallel 49 and White Rock Beach Beer.

Spinnakers is a well establish Brewery/Brewpub from Victoria. Spinnakers is returning to WLCBF for a second year after sharing beers such as their Blue Bridge Double Pale Ale and Nut Brown Ale in 2016.

Parallel 49 is an east Vancouver brewery joining us at WLCBF for the first time.  They've released ambitious multipacks that are great for trying a variety of beer styles such as their 'Christmas advent calendars' and the 'Brews Bros' collaborations.

Whiterock Beach Beer is a lower mainland brewery established in 2013. They feature a West Beach Pale Ale and East Beach Brown Ale.

Set your alarms - ticket sales open this Saturday Dec 3 at 9:30am - cash only at Crofts!

2017 Breweries Announcement #6

OK, we think the BC craft beer scene is pretty great. We've already announced 12 BC breweries whose beer are a testament to this (and don't worry, we've got more to go). But we have to admit that there is some good beer brewed outside of our beautiful province.

At WLCBF festival this year we're hosting beer from 3 breweries that's traveled a little farther than the rest: Innis & Gunn, Mill St. Brewery, and Unibroue.

Scottland's Innis & Gunn will be returning to WLCBF. The beer they shared in 2015 and 2016 has been a hit among our crowd and always receives several fan favourite votes.

Ontario's Mill Street Brewery is a well established brewery in Toronto (Est. 2002). As their product has gained popularity, it has found it's way into liquor stores across Canada.

Lastly, Unibroue, a  Quebec based brewery will be joining us at WLCBF along side another soon to be announced brewery.

2017 Breweries Announcement #5

With only 5 days until tickets go on sale (this Saturday), we are excited to announce two more breweries joining us from the lower mainland area: Bomber Brewing and Old Abbey Ales.

Vancouver's Bomber brewing which boasts a Canadian hockey origin story (and the maker of my favourite extra special bitter) will be returning to WLCBF for a third year.

Abbotsford's Old Abbey Ales is a Belgian focused microbrewery that will be joining us in 2017 at WLCBF for the first time!

Looking forward to hear what beers you both will be sharing with us in February!

2017 Breweries Announcement #4

If you are beer touring in the lower mainland, Port Moody's sky train accessible Murray street has become a craft beer hot spot featuring four breweries, all within walking distance.

If you aren't travelling in the Vancouver area don't worry about missing out - for the first time, Williams Lake Craft Beer Festival will be hosting two of them: Moody Ales and Yellow Dog. Both these Breweries opened their doors in 2014, and have been high demand and growth since!

2017 Breweries Announcement #3

It's the weekend, which is a perfect excuse to kick off your evening with a beer from Steamworks Brewing or Canuck Empire. Both these lower mainland breweries will be returning to WLCBF in 2017!

Last year Canuck Empire shared their Creekside Coffee Stout, and brought us an exclusive beer that they were still finalizing their recipe for. Steamworks won the best in show award at the BC beer awards this year with their Flagship IPA.

2017 Breweries Announcement #2

We are excited to be hosting Granville Island Brewing, Central City Brewing and Four Winds Brewing at WLCBF 2017.

Both Granville Island Brewing and Central City Brewing are well known BC craft breweries that have been a part of our WLCBF since we were starting out in early 2015. Last year Granville shared beers such as their Lions Winter Ale and Maple Shack Cream Ale. Central City, known for their 'Red Racer' series, shared their well balanced ISA.

Four Winds is new to the WLCBF line up. They are the Delta based brewery that has picked up multiple awards at the Canadian Brewing Awards - 'Brewery of the Year' in 2015 and 'Beer  of the Year' in 2016.

Thanks to these three breweries for making the trip up from the lower mainland!

2017 Breweries Announcement #1

With 10 days until tickets go on sale (mark December 3rd on your Calendar!), we're excited to share the line up of brewers that will be joining us in 2017. To kick things off, we're excited to welcome back three of our favourites: Three Ranges Brewing, Red Collar Brewing and Barkerville Brewing.

Valemount's Three Ranges brewery was officially the first brewery to confirm for WLCBF2017!. Over the past two years they have featured beers from their 'Across the Divide' series which have been collaboration beers with Jasper Brewing Company.

Red Collar will be returning as 2017's defending champion after winning the 2016 Fan Favourite for their Doppelbock. Their 'Black Dog Quad' anniversary beer has recently found it's way into WL liquor stores.

Barkerville brewing shared a limited release sour with us during WLCBF 2016. Their local favourites has found it's bar into Williams Lake bars and the golf course.

We are excited to see what brews these breweries have been working over the last year.

WLCBF 2017 - How the Proceeds will Impact our Community

The Williams Craft Beer Festival organizing committee is excited to announce that 2017’s proceeds will raise money for the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre Association. The Child Development Centre is a well-established charity that provides services to children and families in the Williams Lake community. Our goal for the event is to raise $25,000 to replace outdated playground equipment at the CDC and improve the playground’s accessibility for children with mobility issues. For more information about the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre Association check out their website at: http://cccdca.org/

The planning for the 2017 event is shaping up well. There are already more committed breweries for the 2017 then we’ve ever hosted before! Keep an eye on our website and social media feeds for frequent announcements over the next few months!
